As a shareholder of Cypress, Swen66 would like to point out a few “good topics” about this semiconductor company. This synopsis is from the 2007 annual report that was received this week. There are 6 Emerging market trends that are listed in the annual report, but will point out two topics that deals with power. The first in LED-driven lighting. From the report “Demand for reliable, energy efficient, high brightness, and ultra high brightness LED lighting is expected to reach $9 billion by 2011″. Currently Cypress has EZ-color(TM) high brightness LEDs. The next emerging market trend is Solar power. “Solar power is expected to grow from $26 billion in 2007 to $74 billion by 2010″. It also has ties to SunPower, which is helping drive demand and conversion from the orignal (consumer) “grid” energy source.
