I’m jumping back into journaling about Alternative Energy. Took about a month off. Thought it would be a good time to start because Boones, an oil guru from Texas, was on CNBC talking about His plan. HIs plan can be view by going to www.pickensplan.org. Basically he is saying that over $700 Billion dollars is flowing out of the US economy and is traveling overseas to the middle east, and south to Venezuela. Boone in convinced that his wind farm will help limit the need for foreign oil. Mr. PIckens stressed that he is for all types of alternatives that don’t come from overseas. Even bio-fuels, plug-in hybrids, ethanol, and solar would be good alternatives. Check out the page listed above to go right into his “Plan”.
It was said that in 1996 Boone was talking to Bob Dole about energy. Bob Dole told Boone that talking about energy is the “sleeping dog” in politics, and the dog shouldn’t be woken up. Bill Clinton also didn’t wake the “dog”. Boone goes on to say that he will work with either party to develop an energy plan.
Boone used a “white board” to give his presentation on CNBC (Channel 9) at 5:45 CST (this was early in the morning!) Boone also reported that he is personally investing over $10 million dollars (of his own money) to educate others about his plan. Like any good businessman, he should make the money back in his “newly developing wind farm”.
